The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has officially received a copy of the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of Afghanistan to the UAE. This development marks an important step in strengthening diplomatic engagement and formal relations between the two countries.
The meeting reflects the continuation of diplomatic dialogue and cooperation between Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates, underscoring mutual respect and long-standing ties.
During the meeting, Ambassador Mawlawi Badreddin Haqqani, the newly appointed Ambassador of Afghanistan, formally presented a copy of his credentials to Mr. Saif Abdullah Al Shamsi, Deputy Minister of Protocol Affairs of the UAE.
The presentation of credentials is a key diplomatic procedure that enables ambassadors to officially begin their duties and represent their country in the host nation.
While addressing the meeting, Ambassador Mawlawi Badreddin Haqqani described the relations between Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates as historic and deeply rooted. He expressed his sincere appreciation for the UAE’s continued cooperation, assistance, and constructive engagement with Afghanistan over the years.
The Ambassador highlighted the importance of strengthening diplomatic ties and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Mr. Saif Abdullah Al Shamsi welcomed the Afghan Ambassador and reaffirmed the UAE’s recognition of the importance of relations between the two countries. He noted that the appointment of a new ambassador provides an opportunity to further enhance bilateral cooperation.
He expressed hope that Ambassador Haqqani’s tenure would contribute positively to the development of diplomatic relations and cooperation across various sectors.
It was further announced that the newly accredited Ambassador of Afghanistan will soon formally present his credentials to the President of the United Arab Emirates during an official ceremony. This final step will complete the accreditation process and allow the ambassador to fully assume his diplomatic responsibilities.
The receipt of credentials by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs represents an important diplomatic milestone.
